MONEY raised following the death of Devizes woman Kirstie Lucas from cancer has been given to the Bristol Cancer Help Centre.
Miss Lucas, who was 34, was a strong supporter of the centre and a collection was made at her funeral held at St Peter's Church, Devizes, on April 22.
A total of £2,200 was raised and Miss Lucas's father, Alan, handed over the amount to Julian Withers at the centre last week.
Mr Lucas said: "Kirstie attended one of the centre's residential courses soon after her cancer was diagnosed and she found it a great help in trying to come to terms with the disease and for equipping herself with the positive attitude to fight it.
"She was a regular contributor to the centre's funds and planned to take part in a fund-raising event this year until she became too ill."
Miss Lucas battled cancer for two years.
Julian Withers of the Bristol Cancer Help Centre, said: "We would like to thank everyone for organising the collection. Kirstie was a great supporter of the centre and this collection is a very fitting tribute."
