A TEAM of cyclists who work for Npower are riding from their branch in Germany to their offices in Swindon to raise much-needed money for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
The team set off from their German office in Essen on Monday, May 23 and will arrive back at Windmill Hill Business Park on Tuesday, May 31.
They are following the German Industrial Cycle Route from Essen via Duisberg to Venlo.
Once in Holland the cyclists will follow a cycle route across the Netherlands before travelling from Belgium to Northern France where they will catch their ferry back to England.
Before setting off Lee Buchanan, who is part of the team, said: "This is a mammoth task.
"None of the team are cyclists and training has been constant for six weeks.
"But it will be worthwhile and a great personal achievement to undertake this journey and worth every ache and pain for such a good cause.
"This charity deserves all the money it can get.
"I have researched some of the areas that Macmillan touches and it is a very worthwhile cause."
Npower has agreed to match the amount of money that the team raises.
