AN internationally renowned musician will be performing alongside students at New College.
Kenneth Hamilton will perform the first movement of Chopin's Piano Concerto in E Minor with an orchestra of over 60 music students.
Among the orchestra there will also be a number of former New College students.
Diana Bickley, who teaches music at New College and who has organised the event, said: "We're delighted to welcome Kenneth Hamilton back to New College.
"His first visit in 2003 drew a record audience to the Phoenix Theatre for the concert launching the college's grand piano fund followed by an equally successful inaugural concert on the £10,000 piano in February 2004.
Mr Hamilton specialises in 15th century piano transcriptions and has performed all over Europe.
He lectures at Birmingham University.
Diana said: "The concert will be a unique opportunity to enjoy the collective talent of New College students past and present.
"A number of former students who have all pursued diverse careers since attending New College, will reunite especially for this informal event which promises to be a lot of fun.
"As far as I know it will be the first concert of this type in Swindon."
The concert takes place on Saturday at the Phoenix Theatre from 6.30pm. Tickets are free but can be reserved by ringing 01793 611470.
