Picture Ref: 77572-41YOUNG children now have something to do when visiting Swindon Council with their parents.
The council has introduced a new book scheme, which means there will be books for children to read while their parents are talking to customer services staff.
The scheme has been launched at Wat Tyler House and the Civic Offices.
Five children from The Children's Nursery, in Euclid Street, were invited to a special story and nursery rhyme session to try out the books with Rachel Douglass, a Swindon librarian.
She said: "This is a wonderful idea, it can only be good for small children to read and be read to."
Coun David Glaholm (Lab, Penhill) launched the idea because he wants children to benefit from visiting the council offices.
He said: "I am very pleased that this project has come to fruition and I hope that both children and parents visiting our offices will benefit from these books."
All of the books being used in the scheme are being loaned from Swindon libraries.
