Your report on hospital closures (Gazette, May 19) says Wiltshire residents will have to be prepared to lose their cottage hospitals if health services are to be appropriate for the 21st century.
Carol Clarke, chief executive of both local Primary Care Trusts says change is inevitable.
Why? Devizes has an efficient hospital with a capable and caring staff who are pictured being commended by Mrs Clarke on page 19 of the same newspaper. I don't know how she can ever consider getting rid of such a valuable and well loved service. She should think again.
