WE are writing on behalf of the students of Lavington School, to show our utmost disgust at the alleged accusation of the ill mannered behaviour and disrespect by the pupils.

In light of recent events, it has come to our attention that the bad publicity with which our school is being labelled is becoming embellished. We would like to remind the public that the articles only represent a tiny minority of the school, as with every other school in England. Also, some of the events described are from up to 12 years ago, many years before Martin Watson became headmaster.

During his time with the school, as you can see from recent ofsted reports, it has improved remarkably and students are now able to reach their full potential. We feel that this bad press is unjust and jeopardising the success of our school and its reputation that we've all worked so hard to achieve.

We feel that Martin Watson has dealt with any tribulations in professional and fair manner. One must expect Year 11's spirits to be high on their leaving day, but no harm was done.

So, for any sceptics who have bad opinions of Lavington School, we can assure you that it is still of a very high standard in all respects, despite recent allegations.
