GAZETTE & HERALD: CHIPPENHAM newsagent Ali Ashley was transformed into a Sharon Osborne lookalike on Thursday to raise money for the Gazette's Springboard Appeal.
Mrs Ashley, 49, well-known in the town for running Hollands Newshop in Market Place, had her cropped hair turned pillar-box red after 24 customers nominated the colour over alternative shades.
"I wanted to do something crazy for Springboard so I thought if I had my hair dyed, the customers could decide on the colour," she said. "I absolutely love it, but I don't know what my mum's going to think. She'll probably say 'Where's Ali?'"
Mrs Ashley managed to raise over £300 for the Gazette's appeal, and is hoping to reach her £500 target with a raffle in the next couple of weeks. She has bought dozens of prizes for the raffle including a food hamper, binoculars and a personal CD player.
She underwent the transformation at The Courtyard, whose hairdresser Bonita Andre gave her services for free.
