Cellist Anup Biswas performs at Kings Lodge School (17068/2)CHIPPENHAM NEWS: THE bond between two schools thousands of miles apart has been strengthened by a visit from an international cellist.
Anup Biswas, director of a music school for orphaned children in Calcutta, India, visited King's Lodge Primary School, Chippenham, for the fifth time on Thursday.
He performed two concerts for pupils and encouraged some children and teachers to join in.
He also took some instruments to the school and encouraged the children to try playing them.
Children from Mathieson Music School in Calcutta, visited King's Lodge four years ago.
Headteacher Jane Ratcliffe said: "We hope this friendship between Anup, his school and ours will last for many years to come."
She said his school was connected to electricity for the first time this year, meaning the children should be able to communicate using email.
