TROWBRIDGE Town under 14s are looking forward to a meeting with the Maltese president on Sunday during their close season tour.
Seventeen players and nine parents were due to fly to Malta last night for a week-long football tournament against sides from Malta and Italy.
As well as playing in the 11-a-side tournament they will get time for some sightseeing.
Manager Neil Kirkpatrick, said: "We have got a gift to give to the president on behalf of he town and we are very grateful to Trowbridge Town council, who helped fund this trip."
The hosts are Maltese football academy St Andrews, who also have set up branches in West Wiltshire.
Trowbridge Town under 15s are leaving for their tour to Barcelona today.
