The joint venture between Warminster Civic Trust and the town council, honours historical buildings by a round plaque outlining a brief history.
They appear on The Athenaeum, the Maltings in Pound Street and Warminster School. Also honoured are Dewey House, the Literary Institution, and the Chapel of St Lawrence.
The plaques are made of milled stainless steel and are produced locally by Mirage Signs in Chinns Court.
The aim is to produce a blue plaque trail through the town, giving residents a sense of pride and visitors an interesting tour.
Warminster mayor Les Rose said: "There are 20 more buildings in the pipeline.
"Our aim is to make Warminster a smarter place.
"Hopefully this will help make the town a nice place for tourists to visit and give residents a bit of civic pride."
