PERFORMERS young and old entertained and raised more than £1,000 for Dorothy House Hospice Care in a concert at St Thomas' Church, Trowbridge, on Saturday night.
The concert was a tribute to church member Margaret Chatterton, of Trowbridge, a music teacher who taught at many west Wiltshire schools, who died in January.
"It was a super evening," said her husband David Chatterton, of Bellefield Crescent, Trowbridge, who planned the evening with Trowbridge music teacher and fellow church member Celia Harries, of Wingfield Road.
Mrs Harries's flute quartet, Champagne Flutes, played several numbers, as did individual performers and ensembles made up of other church members, and members of the Trowbridge and District Youth Band.
Mrs Chatterton taught music to hundreds of children through her work at Parochial Junior School in Trowbridge, Matravers School in Westbury, George Ward School in Melksham and The John of Gaunt School in Trowbridge.
"She would really have appreciated Saturday evening, it was wonderful to see so many people playing and enjoying music," her husband added.
