A TALENTED young artist is on course for an A grade in her GCSE art exam two years ahead of schedule.
Rosanna Hood, 14, from The John of Gaunt School, in Trowbridge, is just one of a group of artists who presented their work at the school's art exhibition on Thursday. More than 100 GCSE students demonstrated their skills and flair in fine art, textiles and 3D design.
This year an additional group of gifted and talented youngsters have been presenting their work and all are on course to gain top grades in their GCSE exams.
Fourteen students from Year 9, 10 and 11 have been attending after-school art classes specifically aimed at gifted students.
"I've been tremendously impressed by the students' commitment and hard work," said Rachael Brown, head of art at the school. "We will be starting the early GCSE programme again in September with another group of talented artists from our current Year 8."
