CHIPPENHAM NEWS: CHILDREN at Lordsmead Pre-School in Chippenham took part in a colourful balloon launch as part of a double celebration on Friday.
The pre-school was celebrating being awarded a Quality Achievement Award from the Pre-School Alliance.
Each child was given a balloon with his or her name on it, which was then released.
A prize will be given to the child whose balloon travels the furthest.
Leader Carol Williams said: "The children were so excited as we cut the ribbons and let the balloons go. It was a pretty windy day so the balloons could end up anywhere."
Lordsmead is one of the only pre-schools in Chippenham to have achieved Quality status.
Lordsmead was also celebrating the first anniversary of its school preparation room, which was built last year to prepare children who are moving up to primary school.
