THANK you to all the people in Wiltshire who helped to raise money during Save The Children Week 2005 by supporting the 40th Wessex Walks and our house-to-house and street collections.
The Salisbury sponsored walks were a great success.
The weather raging winds, rain and hailstones did not stop our walkers from taking to the hills and footpaths to help raise vital funds for some of the world's neediest children.
More than 1,500 walkers turned out to show their support for the charity.
The 40th thanksgiving service and cutting of the cake by the Dean June Osborne and Wessex Walks secretary Jo Pullen made the Walks special this year.
Since the first walk in 1966 sponsored walkers on the Save The Children Wessex Walks have raised more than £2.3million.
We are hoping 2005 will be a bumper fundraising year for Save The Children.
We would like to thank everyone for helping us celebrate our 40th anniversary. We hope you will be able to join us again next year!
A MILLIE
Save The Children
Wessex Walks Secretary
