The cheque for money raised by the charity ball is handed over Ref: 77632-36A HOST of Swindon charities will be given a boost thanks to a charity ball. The annual Evening Advertiser-backed ball was held at the Marriott Hotel and attracted 160 guests.
Among those at the ball who helped raise the cash were business leaders and civic dignitaries who raised £20,000.
Nationwide then matched this total.
Michelle Leighton, community affairs manager for the building society, chaired the committee for this year's event.
She was pleased that the ball went so well.
Among the charities set to benefit from this extra cash are0 Swindon Scrapstore, Swindon Therapy Centre, NSPCC, North Swindon Family Centre, Druglink, and Lower Shaw Farm.
