A player by the name of Griffin was scoring important goals in Swindon on Saturday, but it was Corsham FC's Alan Griffin who was breaking the net in Swindon Supermarine annual sixes.
Alan, younger brother of the former County Ground striker Charlie now at Wycombe netted the only goal of the final, which saw his Red Lion side triumph over a side calling themselves Swindon's Finest.
The group stages saw a number of early favourites develop.
Rodbourne Arms 1 strolled to the top of their league with the help of goals from Dave Toomey, while the youthful legs of Greendown All Stars ensured their path to the quarter-finals.
Eventual beaten finalists Swindon's Finest took their group thanks to star performances from player-of-the-tournament David Pratt ,who impressed in front of onlooking local managers.
Defending champions and hosts Supermarine went out in the early stages despite losing just once in their group.
Roger Emms, Steve Davies and Tony Joyce were all on the scoresheet for Marine.
Wiggy's Wanderers, who were wearing the red and white away strip of hosts Supermarine, qualified as runners up from their group with goals from Dave Gee, Gary Wedge and Ian Herring helping them through, only to be narrowly beaten in the quarters.
Ashton Keynes knocked out Rodbourne with Greendown All Stars going the same way at the hands of the interestingly named AFC Cheeky Tequila in the quarters.
Swindon's Finest made their way to the final with a 2-0 semi-final victory over AFC Cheeky Tequila, whilE the Red Lion saw off Ashton Keynes by a single goal.
The final was a closely fought contest with Pratt again impressing, but it was left to Griffin to head home the only goal of the final to give his Red Lion side the tournament win.
