Swindon completed an emphatic 145-run victory at home to Malmesbury in the under 13 Red Division of the Wiltshire Youth League.

After being asked to bat, Swindon posted an imposing 200-6, built on a 68 opening partnership between Steve Laggett (67) and Chris Aubrey (29).

This was followed up by an explosive innings of 57 in 36 balls from Will Holmes.

In response, Malmesbury quickly fell behind the required run rate and set about limiting the damage.

At 50-3 after 20 overs, Swindon introduced the spin pairing of Laggett (off) and Jonathan Sore (leg).

Within six overs the pair claimed the remaining seven wickets, with Laggett ending up with figures of 3-2-2-4 and Sore 2.5-1-3-3.

n Wootton Bassett lost three early wickets at home to Cannings, but were then rescued by an unbroken century partnership between Sam Burdock (54) and Dean Williamson (61) to total 148-3 in their 35 overs (Cieran Davies 2-42).

The visitors then collapsed against excellent bowling from Bassett, led by Ravi Samant, who took 5-10 in four overs.

Only Sam Williams (20) offered any resistance as Cannings were bowled out for 51, with Sam Packer and Jack Dymoke taking two wickets apiece.

n In the under 13 Blue Division, Westbury batted first at Shrivenham and made 155-6 with opener Richard Mills (53) and Mark Brothers (32) playing valuable innings.

Alex Kill (2-36) and Matthew Harris (2-15) were the main wicket takers for Shrivenham.

Kill (30) was the only Shrivenham batsman able to cope with the accurate Westbury bowling as the home side were dismissed for 90 to leave Westbury winners by 65 runs.

Mills (2-8), Scott Lewis (2-15) and Pete Medhurst (2-10) were the pick of the Westbury bowlers.
