THE Prospect Hospice Sunflower appeal will be raising money for the hospice in June.

The appeal is part of a national campaign to raise awareness and funds for hospice care.

During the month there will be a range of collection boxes in schools, shops and other public buildings.

Members of the public are asked to donate any spare change they have.

The collection boxes have a range of sunflower badges and pins, which can be offered for donations.

There will be two more fundraising events in June, which are marking the 25 anniversary of the hospice.

On SundayThanksgiving at Prospect will be held at the hospice from 3pm to 4pm.

And on June 17 Tea at Three, will ask people across Swindon to hold a tea party at 3pm to raise money.

It costs £3.2m to run the hospice each year, which is £8,000 a day, to care for 200 to 250 patients.

While the NHS provides a third of this there is still £2m remaining for Prospect to raise itself.

And events like these are an easy way for people in Swindon to help.
