THE Rotary Club of Thamesdown will be holding its 15th annual night-time walk through the Ridgeway.

The sponsored walk, on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19, lasts through the night.

It takes walkers from Avebury to The Royal Oak, Bishopstone.

Walkers will meet at the Royal Oak Bishopstone at 8pm and at 9pm transport will be provided to take people to Avebury.

The walk will begin at 11.30pm.

Organisers say this is not a race and there are no prizes for those who are back first.

But, the pub will be open to welcome tired walkers with a cooked breakfast for £5.

All sponsorship money must be collected and returned to Brian Walkey by July 15.

Cheques must be made payable to The Rotary Club of Swindon Thamesdown.

Your chosen charity will then receive their cheques by Friday, July 29 at a presentation evening at The Royal Oak. All of the sponsorship money collected will go to the nominated charity.

If you have not chosen a charity the money will be paid to rotary charities.

Since the walk started more than £120,000 has been raised for more than 100 charities.

The club is grateful to everyone who takes part and is hoping the event will be as popular this year as it always is.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and a strict safety policy is in place.
