Ashton Bowyer, 3 Picture Ref: 77680-212A FIRE station was awash with satisfied customers who took their cars along for a wash and brush-up.
Fire fighters at Stratton St Margaret spent Bank Holiday Monday doing a sponsored car wash to raise money for the Fire Service Benevolent Fund.
The White Watch was on duty and in charge of the car washing, but off-duty fire fighters from other watches came along to help.
And they were reinforced by Fire Cadets from Cricklade fire station.
Sub-officer Anthony Bowler said: "It was my idea. It's just a very good cause. I know people who have used the therapy units and care homes the fund provides."
The benevolent fund looks after bereaved families and injured fire fighters.
Mr Bowler added: "It's the first time we've done it at this station. I know it's been done at Swindon station, but now we want to do our bit.
"If we can all pull together and do more of these events we will be able to raise more money."
