BIDDESTONE won easily thanks to another all round performance by Dwaine Perry as they sent Cinderford St. John to the bottom of Glos/Wilts Division Two.

Perry claimed two wickets, took one catch and hit 61 runs not out as Biddestone cruised home.

Biddestone secured an eight-wicket victory after keeping Cinderford's total down to 143-5 despite a useful 49 from Matt Whitney off 78 balls.

After Matt Lennon had been give lbw for nine runs off the bowling of Simon Gwynne, Perry (61no) and opener Doug Miller (49) put on a 79-run partnership.

Michael Lodder then chipped in with an unbeaten 14 once Miller had been caught by Whitney off Mark Roberts' bowling to take Biddestone to their victory with 11 overs remaining.

Captain Kris Boulton was pleased with the victory, leaving Biddestone with a 100 per cent record from their opening games.

He said Perry had a good game: "He has bowled very well into the wind again and could not have done anymore for us.

"As long as we keep the opposition down to 150 each week then we have a good chance of winning with how the team is playing.

"James Taylor also played well with 2-16 off six overs and the whole team is pushing on."

Biddestone visit high-flying Rockhampton this Saturday with their opponents sitting pretty at the top of the division.

"They seem to be beating everyone quite comfortably so it should show us whereabouts we are at this stage of the season," said Boulton.

"It's a clash of two sides at the top of their form.

"We have not played there before and we don't know the wicket but it is nice to go somewhere different against different opposition."
