CHIPPENHAM captain Trevor Lloyd says his side now has a platform to build on after picking up a narrow six-run victory for their first win of the season.
Trevor Lloyd said there is still work to be done but that the side could now go into the away tie at Frocester with more confidence.
Lloyd added that the experience of Gloucestershire batsman Tim Hancock made a difference.
"Just having him on the field helped.
"He certainly helped me with fielding decisions because of his experience and some of the stops he pulled off were first class," said Lloyd.
Richard Bates top scored for Chippenham with 25 runs before he was run out. He also picked up three wickets as Old Bristolians Westbury fell for 139.
Lloyd said: "Richard was batting really well before he was run out and I think it was a dubious umpire decision anyway.
"All the bowlers bowled well but I think they had to because we were around 30 runs short of what we would have liked to have had."
The Chippenham captain expects Frocester to be a tough game on Saturday.
"They keep scoring runs and if all their players are available they have a good strong side.
"We will have to be at our best but I am sure our lads will go in confident after our win."
