TWO of the vandals who allegedly caused £1,000 damage to the stand at Devizes Town Football Club last week have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Two local teenagers were arrested after windows were smashed and paint tipped around the home changing room at the pitch on Nursteed Road some time on Thursday night.
Club president Phil Rossiter said that although the club was insured, the clean-up operation will dig into club funds.
He said: "The insurance company will pay for some of the damage but there are excesses on all our policies and we will have to pay a proportion of the cost of putting it right.
"Club members had already started painting and redecorating the building in readiness for next season and it is very demoralising for them."
Five windows were smashed in the stand, advertising boards knocked over and doors kicked in. Tins of paint were tipped over and paint daubed on the walls.
Mr Rossiter said: "It was all mindless stuff. You just can't understand the mentality of people who would do this."
No damage was done to the club's main building.
