TV NEWSREADER Peter Rowell is joining Devizes Guides in their annual sponsored walk around the town on Sunday June 12.
Mr Rowell, who presents news bulletins on HTV West, has told Ann Lovelock, district commissioner for the Guides, that he is anxious to lose some weight and thinks taking part in the walk would help.
The Guides are still trying to raise money to build their dream Guiding centre on land at Gypsy Patch on Coate Road just outside Devizes.
They have raised around £50,000 towards the scheme but more is always required, especially after the group received a bill for over £7,000 from Wessex Water to install a water main.
Guides, Rainbows and Brownies will be among those stepping out on June 12.
