VISITORS to Devizes Beer Festival at The Wharf arriving without tickets will be turned away, the organisers have warned.
Even before the Devizes branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, or CAMRA, advertise the event on July 2, they have sold ten per cent of the tickets.
Tickets are now on sale at the Artichoke in Northgate Street, the British Lion in Estcourt Street, Devizes Books in Sidmouth Street, the Hare and Hounds, Kennet and Avon Canal Trust shop at the Wharf, and the Southgate Inn.
The group is urging people to book early to avoid disappointment.
Don Jones, chairman of Devizes CAMRA, said: "The site limits the amount of beer we can have and supply always outstrips demand.
"There will be ten per cent more beer but that's the capacity for the site. This is why we have to be so strict on entry numbers."
Mr Jones said that this year might be the last time the festival is organised in its current format. He said: "Kennet's ridiculous decision to close the public toilets will have an impact on this sort of event.
"They have made it clear that they plan to redevelop the site and community events like ours will be in jeopardy."
As well as over 50 beers and ciders to sample, there will be lots of entertainment including the Outhouse Critics, the Devizes Boys Brigade Old Boys Band which will open the event, Insomnia, and Idle Fret.
