Sam Thomas' winning entryARTISTS struggling to find a place to exhibit their work will be green with envy to discover that a Swindon primary schoolchild's work will be seen by millions next week.
Sam Thomas, a pupil at Catherine Wayte school in Abbey Meads, is one of the winners of the Sky News Weather Challenge.
The school entered the picture in the competition, and it will be shown on Sky News on Sunday evening and Monday morning and seen by millions of viewers worldwide.
Francis Wilson, Sky News senior weather presenter and one of the competition's judges, said: "The children really took up the theme with gusto.
"Catherine Wayte's poster brought home the devastation caused by a tornado with houses, trees and even a cow sucked up in the air. They stuck closely to the brief and created a poster that quite literally put weather in the news."
Sam's popularity at the school will be increased as the whole class will receive goody bags as part of the prize.
