IT never ceases to amaze me what opponents of James Gray will fasten on to in their attempt to embarrass him as the Member of Parliament for North Wiltshire.

This time, the usual suspects are represented by Mary Fallon (Gazette letters, May 26).

Mr Gray is entitled to his opinion as indeed is she, but let us not let fact get in her way.

It is a fact that without Scotland the Labour Party would not hold power in this disunited Kingdom, the same can also be said for Wales.

Both are bastions of rabid socialism that underpin this present government but, why should they have a say on what happens in England when they have their own Parliaments?

James is right when he says the Lothian question needs to be aired, it also needs to be acted upon. He is a Scot and so was my father and we are both very proud of our heritage. But it is my belief that they (the Scots and/or the Welsh) should not have any say in our domestic policies when it is not reciprocal.

I would go even further than James and suggest that if they can have their own legislature, why do we not have an English Parliament?

If we did have then it is also a fact that many more people vote Conservative in England than they do for any of the other parties.
