SWINDON bowler Jon Lewis achieved an unwanted hat-trick yesterday after England named an unchanged line-up for this morning's second npower Test against Bangladesh at Chester-le-Street.
Captain Michael Vaughan has unsurprisingly kept faith with the same XI who completed an innings victory over the tourists inside three days in the opening Test at Lord's.
Worcestershire off-spinner Gareth Batty, who failed to bat or bowl at Lord's, is once again preferred to uncapped Gloucestershire seamer Lewis.
"I thought we played a good game at Lord's and the same XI deserve to play," explained Vaughan.
Lewis, 29, has now been included in each of England's last three Test parties but failed to make the team.
Having been called in as bowling cover during the final days of the Test tour of South Africa, he was also included for the opener to the current series at Lord's.
He will remain with the team in the north east rather than return to county duty at Maidstone and is set to make his international debut within the next month, having been named in the NatWest Series one-day squad for contests against Bangladesh and Australia.
England: ME Trescothick, AJ Strauss, MP Vaughan (capt), IR Bell, GP Thorpe, A Flintoff, GO Jones (wkt) , GJ Batty, MJ Hoggard, SJ Harmison, SP Jones.
