CHIPPENHAM NEWS: A GAME designed to teach children the importance of water conservation has been launched by Wessex Water.
Pupils at St Patrick's Primary School in Corsham were given a chance to test it out when education adviser Cath Nicholls officially unveiled the project. The Water Family is an online, interactive game for children aged eight-11, with points for being Water Wise.
It asks youngsters to think about how they and their families use water in and around the house and what they could do to save the precious resource.
The game is part of Wessex Water's Wise Up to Water campaign to encourage changes in water use.
Wessex Water director of communications Barrie Clark said: "With the increasing concerns about water resources dues to climate change, population growth and growing demand for water, it is important that we teach young people the value of being Water Wise."
