WARMINSTER CRICKET: MARK Coxon-Tenty has challenged his Warminster side to bounce back at home to Redmarley tomorrow after their promising start to the season fell flat.
Saturday's 150 run defeat at Goatacre was their second loss in succession, after an opening day win against Trowbridge, and leaves them struggling in Gloucestershire and Wilts Division One.
Warminster always looked to be heading for defeat once the hosts set them 311 for the loss of just six wickets and their valiant run chase ended in inevitable disappointment.
Coxon-Tenty, said: "It was a bad day all round for us. They batted well and we never looked like pulling it back.
"We were very short of players as four first team regulars had pulled out but hopefully they will be back tomorrow.
"After two straight defeats it is important we get back to winning ways but we all believe we have that ability."
A quick fire 105 not out from Pete Turner put Goatacre in control as Warminster's bowling attack failed to contain a strong batting attack. Leigh Beauchamp and James Lewis took two wickets apiece for Warminster.
Ian Pinchen (37) top scored for the visitors while Beauchamp (32) and Simon Webb (28) also contributed as they were bowled out for 161 off 44 overs.
