Wootton Bassett's search for a new manager has ended with the promotion of reserve team chief Paul Burke to the position.
Bassett have been looking for a new boss since Chris Jones stepped aside following the club's relegation from the Hellenic Premier at the end of the season.
Burke will be assisted by Bryan Wood, his No 2 with the reserves last term.
"It is important that we have been able to promote from within," said chairman Mark Smedley.
"I feel that the hiring of Paul and Bryan is the right choice for the club.
"Both are ambitious and share the same views as the committee of where they want the club to be heading.
"We are looking to bounce back on last year's disappointment and feel that these two can ensure we get back into the Hellenic Premier Division and maybe higher in the longer term.
"Both Paul and Bryan are also former players with the Club and know how things operate here, which is another plus."
During his tenure with the reserves, Burke has helped mould a side that has won the Hellenic League Reserve Division One and reached the semi-finals of the Reserve Cup.
His first objective is to guide the club back to the Hellenic's top flight.
"That's the aim," he said.
"We hope to challenge and finish in a position to be promoted.
"It's also important we get the feel good factor back at the club.
"The job is a natural progression for me after five years with the reserves and I've been playing at the club since I was 16."
Meanwhile, after his brave attempt to save Bassett from the drop, Jones remains with the club and will be managing the under 18 side.
