Picture Ref: 77722-06TODDLERS have helped raise more than £1,000 for charity.
Children at the Leapfrog Day Nursery ran or toddled sponsored laps in a mini-marathon around the building to boost funds for the British Heart Foundation.
And yesterday the children handed over a cheque for £1,002 to the foundation.
Lorraine Gourley, catering manager at the nursery, said: "We chose the BHF as there are many children with heart problems who need research to help their condition.
"As a nursery we encourage healthy lifestyles.
"We planned the marathon to coincide with the London marathon weekend in April.
"During the week before the run the children learned about the heart and its role in the body."
Yesterday the youngsters re-lived the day when they staged another run in the grounds of the playgroup.
