SWINDON Wildcats have released netminder Geoff Woolhouse following an incident in yesterday's 6-2 English Premier League home defeat to Slough Jets.
Woolhouse was ejected from the game at the Link Centre following a clash with former Swindon player Ryan Watt around the home net.
The Cats netminder reacted angrily to a clash with Watt, headbutting the former Wildcat, who then retaliated with several punches of his own.
Woolhouse has been served with two week's notice by the club, who have immediately begun the search for a replacement.
A club statement said: "Woolhouse's two weeks' notice will be served under a suspension following this incident.
"Wildcats head coach Ryan Aldridge and his new assistant Simon Anderson are currently searching and working on bring a replacement netminder in for the remainder of the season.''
