Age Concern is hoping to benefit from the Great Sunday Lunch, where they are asking supporters to host a Sunday lunch on October 18 and ask their dinner guests to make a donation to Age Concern Wiltshire.
They are also approaching local restaurants and pubs to see if they would ask their Sunday lunchtime patrons to contribute or if they would donate a percentage of their trade that day.
Director Liddy Davidson said: “This is the second year we have organised the Great Sunday Lunch.
“The whole thing about our Big 60 appeal is that no one event has to raise a lot of money. If we can get 1,000 people to raise £60 each we will have hit our £60,000 target during our 60th anniversary year.”
