A baby chillout group in Calne has been so successful, it is expanding to cope with demand.
The pilot project was launched by Calne Children’s Centre, managed by children’s charity Barnardo’s South West in its new sensory room.
The aim is to help children under one to settle while encouraging parents to make new friends.
More than 40 families from Calne, Chippenham and Devizes attend the Tuesday group. Now the centre in Prince Charles Drive, is running a Thursday session starting on September 10.
Barnardo’s local services co-ordinator Katie Sims said: “Each session lasts 45 minutes and parents and carers can choose to chat or to sit quietly and play with their child.
“In some cases the parents are so relaxed they lie down on the mats as well.”
