Toddler Thomas Creighton was one of more than a thousand people turning up to support Box Rocks at the Queen’s Head on Bank Holiday Monday raising thousands for a new neonatal intensive care unit in Bath.
Thomas, who is now 19-months-old had been admitted to NICU when he was born 12 weeks premature on January 19 last year.
According to his uncle, Dean Creighton who runs The Queens Head and has been organising Box Rocks for the past 16 years, he was dancing away to the music.”
Mr Creighton said: “The event was a huge success even bigger than last year with about 900 people coming through the doors by 5.30pm in the afternoon.
“Thomas and his parents Kerry, and David attended the event with my brother helping out and Thomas and Kerry dancing away to the music.
“This is the first year he has been able to dance to the music with his ear plugs in.
“He seemed to be having a great time like everyone else and was very well behaved. He is a very happy chappy.”
The event saw a live web show grow from strength to strength with hundreds of people watching the nine rock bands online during the course of the day. People were also able to donate to The Forever Friends Appeal at the Royal United Hospital in Bath towards the new unit.
Although the money is still being counted Mr Creighton hopes that the event will have raised more than last year’s £2,335.22 and is already planning next year’s event.
