Firefighters from across Wiltshire and Swindon will be taking part in this year’s Emergency Services Show, which is taking place at Hullavington airfield near Chippenham on Sunday September 13.

The event, now in its fifth year, is organised by a voluntary committee drawn from Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service, Wiltshire Police and Great Western Ambulance Service. All profits are ploughed into charities that have links with the emergency services, and thousands of pounds have been donated since the Show began.

During this year’s Show – which will be open from 10am to 4pm – visitors will be able to see a wide range of fire & rescue vehicles and equipment, including fire engines, a water carrier, an aerial appliance, a water rescue unit, animal rescue equipment and much more.

There will be a chance to chat with firefighters about the challenges they face, and recruitment information will be available for anyone interested in joining the Service. Community safety advisors will also be on hand to help make your home safer from the risk of fire.

A busy programme of events in the showground’s two arenas will include a display by Cricklade fire cadets and a demonstration of how the emergency services deal with a road traffic collision.

Tickets are just £5 for adults and £2.50 for children under 16, with the under threes getting in for free!
