The usually quiet village of Cherhill will be filled with music on Saturday with a fundraising concert in aid of Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Landlords father and daughter Bob and Kerry Perkins will host a day of live music at The Black Horse in Labour-In-Vain Hill in a bid to raise as much money as possible for the appeal.

Miss Perkins said: “This is going to be a really good event and we are looking forward to it.

“We are hoping to raise as much money as we can for the air ambulance because it is a really good cause.

“I am a motorcyclist so I figure I might need them one day. A couple of my friends have used it too so I feel I should support it.”

The pair have spent all summer organising the event, which will see live music kicking off at 2pm with local band TSO, followed by Hot Rocks from York.

Rounding up the outdoor gig will be The What 4s, before headliners The Rockin’ Bandits will finish off with rock and roll songs from the 50s inside the pub from 8pm.

Mr Perkins said: “We are really pleased with the line-up because all four are well known bands and they are giving their time for free to help us.

“TSO and The Rockin’ Bandits have both played here before and they went down really well so we asked if they would come back.”

Bucket collections and a barbecue will form the basis of the fundraising, with all proceeds going to the Air Ambulance Appeal.

“Everything is organised now – we have the license and the staff so it is just a case of praying for nice weather,” Miss Perkins said.

“We are also hoping we have ordered enough food and beer for everyone.”
