Devizes is to get a tattoo parlour after a young body artist decided to strike out on her own.
Kelly Oram, 28, from Melksham, is opening Cherub’s Tattoo Parlour in Sheep Street at the end of next month.
But she is having an open day on August bank holiday Monday to give local people a taste of the kind of body art she has to offer.
Ms Oram decided to become a tattoo artist after she had her first one at the age of 18.
She said: “I knew that this was exactly what I wanted to do with my life. I became an apprentice to Stuart Fish at South of Heaven in Melksham, which is where I have been working.
“My mum is very supportive.
“She even let me tattoo a dragonfly on her.”
There has been a tattoo parlour in Sheep Street before, but it was only open two days a week.
Ms Oram hopes to operate the parlour six days a week.
