Two characters who have been in custody at Marlborough police station since last week are desperate to be returned to the family they live with.
The 12 inch high soft-bodied doll wearing a pink and white outfit and an eight inch high woolly monkey were handed in at the police station by a kind-hearted member of public who found them at the Coopers Meadow play area and feared they had been lost by a child.
The two characters both show signs of lots of loving and Penny Smith, once of the civilian receptionists at the Marlborough police inquiry office said she was sure their owner would be missing them.
The doll is wearing a pink and white outfit that may even have been completely pink when it was new and it has a distinctive hat with two ‘horns’ and rather protruding big toes!
Mrs Smith said: “They have obviously both been well loved and there could well be a child out there who is missing them.”
They can be claimed either by visiting the police station between 9am-12.45pm or 1.15pm and 5pm or by ringing Wiltshire police 0845 408 7000.
