Police are urging parents to keep an eye on their children during the last few weeks of the summer holidays after an increase of reports of youths breaking into derelict sites and building sites.

Chippenham and Corsham police have taken more and more calls about kids breaking into unsecured sites and one incident where a fire was started at the old HMS Royal Arthur site in Corsham.

On Sunday night the CoachStyle yard at Nettleton was broken into and several coaches were broken in and damaged as well as a large quantity of diesel stolen Sergeant Mark Gale said: "Fortunately we have not been sent to any reports of injuries, but there was a fire at the old HMS Royal Arthur site in Corsham which could have serious implications.

"I know parents cant keep an eye on their kids all the time, but they really need to do all they can to make them aware of the dangers and keep them out."

Anyone with information on the Corsham fire should contact PC Chris Tunstall on 0845 408 7000 and anyone who knows anything about the coach break-ins should call PC Claire Boddie on the same number.
