I was at the meeting in the Town Hall last week for the Tesco presentation and was pleased to see so many people there.
I was impressed with the applause given to some comments made by the public and it was plain to see that the majority of people there are in favour of Tesco coming to the town.
I have spoken to many Marlborough friends and people that I know from my school days, and other townspeople, and they are all in favour of Tesco coming.
I wish and hope that they could also bring a petrol station.
I wanted to buy a pair of trousers and a bedsheet and I had to travel to Swindon as there is not a shop in town where I could buy them.
Tesco in Swindon had everything I needed and much much more.
We have the widest High Street in europe and nowhere can you buy a simple bedsheet.
