We read so much nonsense coming out of Westminster, it is not surprising to read that Tesco store out of town will not affect the town.
If we believe that, we will believe anything. If Tesco encourage people out of town to buy their goods, what will happen to local traders who provide our needs, will we buy more meat, bread, fruit, vegetables, flowers etc, etc, or will these traders suffer to an extent when they may have to close.
Marlborough needs a supermarket store but in town, and do not kid yourselves they will only sell food; they will expand to sell anything they can make a profit on, they already control communities.
I think the empty store of Age of Elegance suggests what Marlborough is likely to become.
