Hundreds of people had to stand outside the chapel at West Wiltshire Crematorium on Tuesday to pay their respects to a popular Westbury police officer.
Father-of-two Mike Johnson, 46, beat manager for Westbury Rural, died while being airlifted from Westbury Police Station, where he had collapsed, to the Royal United Hospital in Bath on August 3.
A police guard, of more than one hundred police officers, lined the road to the chapel in honour of the policeman, who had served in Wiltshire for 22 years.
His coffin was draped in the union flag with his police helmet resting on the coffin, which was carried in to the Michael Buble song Home.
About 300 mourners packed inside the church to sing hymns such as The king of love my shepherd is, with approximately 200 listening to the service on speakers outside.
PC Johnson, who has two children Alice, 18, and Alex, 13, lived with his fiancée Sarah Kaufman, who is a police constable in Trowbridge, and her three children in Eriskay Gardens, Westbury.
The couple got engaged six months ago in Venice and were due to marry next year.
