Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey club have confirmed the addition of two further names to their roster for the forthcoming English Premier Ice Hockey League season.
Young British netminder Oli Lansdowne re-signs for his hometown club, and Wildcats welcome British forward Alan Green to their offensive unit.
Alan Green, 25, links up with his former teammate and Coach having spent last season impressing in his debut season in the Premier League with Gareth Endicott's Wightlink Raiders, where he was awarded with the club's Most Improved Player award.
With international cups at Under-18s level, Green's senior hockey career began up the A420 with the Oxford City Stars in the English National League where he became one of the team's most dependable players.
"'Steamy' is the hard working high energy guy that I have been looking for to fill our third line," said Wildcats Head Coach Ryan Aldridge about his latest addition.
"He comes highly recommended by my Assistant Coach, Gareth Endicott, and from players that he has played with in his previous teams.
"He comes with great character, good skills and speed.
"Not only is Steamy a pest to play against, but his speed and energy help him find the net.
"He is eager to get this season started in a Wildcats jersey."
Oli Lansdowne, 19, signs up for the his second full senior season with the Wildcats.
A product of the local Junior programme, Lansdowne is determined to push newcomer Geoff Woolhouse for the important back-stop position.
"It's great to have Oli back with the Wildcats," said Aldridge.
"This season he is going to be pushed more than ever. I am a strong believer that your starting Goalie needs to be pushed for his spot to be at the top of his game and not to get complacent.
"Oli is coming in to work with Geoff Woolhouse and will learn from him as well as push him.
"Although both of our netminders are young, Oli will be able to draw on Housie's experiences playing alongside some of the best netminders and under some of the best coaches at the top level of our sport in this country.
"The young pair will be working together to bring the best out of each other, for each other, and our team this season."
The signatures of Green and Lansdowne bring the number of signings for the new season to seventeen, with exciting news from Canada expected very soon about one final addition to the team.
