Inflated antique prices in TV shows are being blamed for the demise of a Devizes antique centre.
Judy Coom is closing the Upstairs Downstairs antique centre in the Market Place at the end of September, though she may extend her lease for another month.
She said: “When I first opened seven years ago I had 32 people in with me. Now I have six. Because of the prices quoted in TV programmes like Antiques Roadshow, people get strange ideas about the value of things.
“I have tried to keep going as long as I can but you have to face facts. I will probably stay home and buy and sell on eBay, just like everyone else.”
