The meeting will start at 7pm in Calne Town Hall and there will be the opportunity to chat with councillors and community representatives over a tea or coffee from 6.30pm Area boards will form a key part of the decision making structure of Wiltshire Council and ensure decisions about local issues are made locally and are open to everyone in the community. These new style meetings will identify issues of genuine local concern and respond quickly and effectively with practical action.

Each area board has a budget which it can award to local schemes to improve life in the community. There will also be an update on the community issues that have been received since Calne held its first area board in July.

Area board chairman Alan Hill, said: “We want to build on the enthusiasm and support that the area board has already received. This meeting will start the work required in order to address the issues faced by local people and take decisions that will deliver real improvements for the community.”
