Following the letter last week referring to the one way system in Pewsey, I do feel for Pewsey Metal as their forecourt is being used for those who do not pay attention to the road signs. This is however not the fault of the police and it was uncalled for to name WPC Emma Brown in the manner in which it was.
The one way road system was compiled by the council and highway officials so why does the letter question the ability of the police?
I do feel that the one way system was started in the wrong place. In my opinion it should start just past the entrance to Rawlings Road.
This would have cut out all those that do sadly take the short cut and those who have made a genuine mistake, therefore taking the risk away from the Pewsey Metals staff and customers.
If people want things to change in the village surely it would be better to work together with the officials and villagers, not just pick fault in one person.
If you talk to the villagers they say that one of the biggest problems is the teenage drinkers that are on the street. I’m sorry to say that we can't all have our cake and eat it.
Cheryl Tapper, Pewsey.
