Mum Heidi Murphy is pleading for any information on the theft of her son’s beloved scrambling bike which was stolen on Sunday.
The black and white 49cc Derbi Senda scooter was stolen from outside a house in Cricketts Lane, Chippenham, late on Sunday evening.
Mrs Murphy’s 16-year-old son Rupert had used his life savings to pay £1,500 for the bike and had had it for only a week.
She said: “He was always out on it and loved it more than anything.
“We have no idea why it was stolen or by whom but if anyone knows anything about it they should contact the police straight away.
“It was my son’s life and I started a trust fund for him when he was a baby and this is what he chose to spend it on.
“I am begging anyone with information to come forward.”
Anyone who has information should contact Chippenham Police on 0845 408 7000 or anonymously on Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
