Children have been shaking off the wet weather with fun days at Springfield Leisure Centre and the Olympiad in Chippenham over the past few weeks.
At Springfield, around 30 to 40 children a day have taken part in themed activities from swimming and sports to creative sessions.
Duty manager Gareth Unwin said: “The play schemes are a favourite with the parents as well as children as we have extended our days from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
“This means that parents can drop their kids and pick them after a day out or when they have finished work.”
He added that children can choose between sports activities and creative sessions.
Next week the children can use cameras in Movies and the following week follows a Seasons theme.
At the Olympiad Leisure Centre, five to 13-year-olds have been swimming, roller skating, playing football and making arts and crafts.
An average of 27 children are visiting the centre each day – a higher number than last year.
Co-ordinator Craig Pepper said each week has a different theme from Star Wars to lifesaving and dungeons and dragons.
One of the most popular activities is a roller disco. Mr Pepper said: “Swimming is another highlight. We also have a cinema, when we play films on a giant screen.”
The scheme runs until August 28.
